Missed this yesterday so hope all went well dear bat
Based on what we lost during the last move I'd add 10% to the removal budget for replacements

I'm sure if Battie can find his way the fish can.
By the way. It's very quiet round here. Do you think they might not have the tinterweb at the end of town where he's moving to? Or electricity?

I'll have you know that oop north we have lectric and tinternet. I presume we have not heard from the batty one since his pooter is coal-fired and he's probably still getting steam up. Just enjoy the peace and quiet as he'll be back shortly like a demented whirling dervish!!

He's probably just discovred that Broadband speeds are very very slow in 'ull and that some of the existing residents, and fish, are moving to Derby for a much better service
Keep smiling, it's good for your well being

I'd heard that while 'ouse prices in 'ull have plummeted, the market has suddenly and unaccountably picked up in Derby. Also heard tell of street parties. Hmmm.

Re: Removal men
Kingston Upon Hull, if you don't mind!!!!! You wouldn't call Kingston upon Thames just Thames so why should Kingston Upon Hull be just called Hull or 'ull. A matter of pride for the older generation who have lived or who live in Kingston Upon Hull. Hope DK gets it right....

Re: Removal men
interesting point - just about no one calls Kingston upon Thames by its full name - just Kingston!mavismumakrill wrote:Kingston Upon Hull, if you don't mind!!!!! Went to Uni in Hull (or 'Ull) back in the seventies - offically Kingston upon H (the Hull being a local river) but all the locals called it Hull (or 'Ull) back then.

Re: Removal men
As soon as they put an "H" in the Yorkshire Alphabet we will start calling them Hull and Huddersfield. Until then......!
